5 products, 5 steps, 5 minutes. This makeup routine will give you a gorgeous, fresh-faced look, while protecting your face from summer’s sun + sweat. It will stay on all day, with no re-application—except for the lip balm. It’s completely brushless and can be applied in 5 minutes or less. (And let’s be honest, after getting your kids ready for outdoor play, five minutes is all you have.) Watch our tutorial below.
This routine has 5 products—no brushes needed. Great for year-round wear, beyond summer.
Which products should I color match? Match the CC+ cream, eyebrow pencil + lip balm to your skin tone and coloring. The mascara (Carbon Black) and blush stick (Orgasm) are universal colors and look great on everyone. Note: IT Cosmetics offers one of the widest ranges for CC Creams at Ulta: Fair, Light, Medium, Medium Tan, Tan, Rich and Deep. It doesn’t matter if you’re cool or warm-toned.

As moms themselves, Amanda (#boymom) and Renee (#girlmom) definitely understand the challenge of squeezing in a daily beauty routine. Emphasis on “squeezing in” between naps, nursing, playtime, stop lights, conference calls, 4am shoots and production life. In fact, this makeup kit was inspired by Amanda’s personal on-the-go kit (kept in a diaper wipes bag in her car) when she was in the midst of a new-business startup and nursing a newborn.

Step-by-Step Tips
Step 1: Apply 1-2 drops of CC+ Cream SPF50 all over the face and neck. Blend well. Go over eyelids as well, with leftover foundation. For oily-skin: The original CC+ cream is hydrating, and requires less moisturizer underneath. Also, coming soon: Oil-free Matte CC+ Cream SPF40!
Step 2: Going in the direction of the hair, apply eyebrow pencil to eyebrows using short outward strokes. Then use the brush on the reverse side of the pencil to brush out the hairs and blend the gel. A little goes a long way so use sparingly until you get used to it.
Step 3: Apply blush stick to upper part of cheeks where the sun hits the most. You can also add just a little to the middle of your nose, forehead and chin for added shimmer.
Step 4: Apply mascara starting from base of lashes then sweep up with a wiggle motion. Repeat to bottom lashes. For swim + water play use the waterproof mascara.
Step 5: Apply lip balm SPF15 . If you want a thin application, apply with fingers, otherwise apply to lips directly from the stick. Reapply as needed.
MWAA!
I’m personally excited for this kit. Since becoming a SAHM two summers ago, I stopped wearing makeup. I invested in chic spandex and Nikes, but my beauty routine became lost in the shuffle. At first it was liberating—and perfect for outdoor play with my kids. But as time went on, I realized I had made a rookie mistake. I was getting my kids ready, but failing to get myself ready. It took a toll on my mental game, and reminded me how important self-care is. Something like a 5-minute makeup routine could make a huge difference. (Including a shower. Did I just confess that? Yes I did.) Thank you, Amanda and Renee. Not only do you teach women this truth, but you live it out in a beautiful, real-life way.
