Quick Chalks: Daddy’s Day Greeting Cards

Quick Chalks: Daddy’s Day Greeting Cards

If you’re like me, finding greeting cards while pushing a grocery cart full of kiddos is well. An adventure. Need a fun alternative? For the cost of one greeting card, you can grab a box of chalk, and have sidewalk play for your kids after Father’s Day. Any chalk will do. My personal favorite is Crayola Washable Sidewalk Chalk because they don’t roll, and they offer a beautiful spectrum including blackish brown.

I‘ve enlisted two of my favorite creatives Amber Majors and Jessica Davis to help me whip up some chalky Daddy’s Day Greeting Cards. (Thank you, lovelies!) Here are three simple ideas with design kick, and a lot of fun to create. Happy Father’s Day!

Simple Squares. You can’t draw just one.

Draw time: 10min |  These are like eating Doritos. You can’t draw just one. You have to draw many. Text them to your dad all day long. Amber and I joked that she might go all over the city drawing “Love U Dad.“ Then go eat Doritos.

Big Wingtips to Fill

Draw time: 15 min | There is no cooler sight than to see my son clomp around in Daddy’s shoes. So I grabbed Jon’s favorite wingtips as inspiration. And I loved using the shoes to point to our house for a Father‘s Day party.

Daddy Portraits (and Bubbles!)

Draw time: 20 min |  My friend Dustin is an amazing stay-at-home Dad. Even more amazing is his photography and giant beard. It was totally fitting that Jess and Addie created a Daddy portrait, putting him in front of the camera, instead of behind it. Then of course, adding leaves and bubbles.

Happy Daddy’s Day!
